Today the Picassos learned all about the life of Jacques Cousteau, who was among many things a scientist, conservationist and lover of the sea. He created a documentary of his adventures under the sea which won great acclaim. But he also invented many devices to make deep sea diving possible including the first iteration of the scuba mask and snorkel which he called the Aqualung that allowed man to stay underwater. We read a lovely little story that summarizes his life and achievements and then they created a collage of Cousteau in his element!
They got lots of practice drawing the human figure and of course creating the underwater background was loads of fun!
